EServices Registration & Payment System will be turned off from 16-27 Feb while priority applicants are slotted for activities.  Primary and alternate notifications will go out NLT 1 March advising cadets what they should do to accept their slot at an event.  After 27 Feb the site will reopen, allowing late applicants.

NFA-North Central Region Joint Flight Academy (Powered)

     Powered: 16 

 
The NCR Joint Flight Academy is a great start for aspiring pilots and some students may have the opportunity to solo!
 
For both schools, students will receive air and ground instruction from certified FAA flight instructors.
 
Students flying in the powered school will receive up to 10 hours of hands on flight time and 25 hours of ground school instruction. Students are also able to fly as an observer to gain more flight experience while other cadets are receiving instruction. Aircraft used are Cessna 172s.
 
Students flying in the glider school will receive up to 25 flights as well as 25 hours of ground school instruction.
 
Once selected as a student, instructors will provide assistance for obtaining a FAA Type 3 Medical Certificate. Students will also be provided with a welcome packet with packing list and other important information to prepare for the NCR Joint Flight Academy.
 
Students will stay at the Gustavus Adolphus College dorms that are air conditioned. Breakfast and dinner are at the college cafeteria and food is buffet style.

Cadets that are 15 or older and have earned the Wright Brothers Award are encouraged to apply for the Col Mary Feik Flight Scholarship to help pay for this activity!

Cadets that are 16 or older and have earned the Billy Mitchell Award are encouraged to apply for the Col Feik and other flight scholarships to help pay for this activity!
